grass jelly milk punch
We love a good mocktail, and every now and then, we like to branch out with something off-menu. Cue this Grass Jelly Milk Punch.
Milk punch dates back centuries (you’ll catch Charles Dickens referencing it), but it’s easy to see why the tradition has been kept alive all this time: it’s a cup of pure sweet, creamy indulgence.
Since we’re opting for a mocktail, we’re steeping ours up with our Brown Sugar Bourbon tea, the perfect alternative to the spirit it’s named after. And with the playful addition of grass jelly, it’s truly a contemporary twist on this old-fashioned fave!
ingredients:
1 Perfect Spoon Brown Sugar Bourbon loose leaf tea
¼ cup brown sugar
1–2 tsp maple syrup
1 cup milk of choice
Grass jelly, cut into cubes
Ice
Heavy cream, whipped
recipe:
-
Add tea and brown sugar to a pot. Heat gently until the sugar melts and lightly toasts.
-
Add the milk and bring to a boil, then remove from heat and strain.
-
Add cut grass jelly to a serving cup and fill with ice.
-
Pour the roasted milk tea over the ice and grass jelly.
-
Top with freshly whipped heavy cream and serve.
