Butterfly Jasmine Spritz
If you’re a fan of jasmine tea and fruity bevvies, you’ll want to give this recipe a try, like, now. It uses a base of our Butterfly Jasmine tea—a green tea made up of handpicked tea leaves from the Fujian region in China that unfurl into pretty little butterflies as they steep.
While we adore this tea on its own, we devised this recipe for when we’re in the mood for something a little sweeter. It uses elderflower syrup and pear juice to give it a delicious, fruity touch. And served over ice, it’s the most refreshing warm weather drink—almost like nectar that a butterfly itself would want to sip!
ingredients:
2 Perfect Spoons Butterfly Jasmine loose leaf tea
400 ml (13 oz) hot water
Ice
30 ml (1 oz) elderflower syrup
Maraschino cherry (optional)
Fresh mint or pear slices (to garnish)
recipe:
-
Steep your tea in hot water for 2-3 minutes, then strain.
-
Allow tea to cool to room temperature (you can put it in the fridge to chill it quicker).
-
Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour elderflower syrup and pear juice over the ice.
-
Once the tea has cooled, pour it into the glass and stir gently to combine.
-
For a final touch, garnish your drink with a sprig of fresh mint or a thin slice of pear.
